Premier League clubs now have less than 48 hours to get their summer business over the line before the September 1 transfer deadline. It means today could prove to be arguably the busiest day of the entire window so far ahead of Friday's last-gasp chaos.

The wheels are already in motion for a frantic sprint to the finish line and several deals are on the verge of being completed ahead of this weekend's action.

The large majority of clubs are still active in terms of both incomings and outgoings but as always, expected a few surprises before the close of play.

Liverpool are among those working on another high-profile deal for their boss Jurgen Klopp as they continue talks with Bayern Munich for Ryan Gravenberch.

Manchester United are also working on a deal for another central midfielder in Sofyan Amrabat after submitting a low-ball loan offer.

Manchester City winger Cole Palmer is due to undergo a medical at Chelsea today while Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes is headed for the Etihad Stadium.

Express Sport keeps you posted with all the latest transfer news on Thursday, August 31.

Cole Palmer has completed his medical ahead of joining Chelsea.

Fabrizio Romano says documents are now being signed by Manchester City and the Blues.

Palmer is set to move to Stamford Bridge for a fee of £45m.

He is the player Mauricio Pochettino has chosen to strengthen his attacking resources.

Sergio Reguilon has been granted permission to travel and undergo a medical with Manchester United, reports claim.

The Athletic says the Spaniard is now the top left-back target for the Red Devils.

United are working on completing a straight loan deal with Spurs.

Reguilon has overtaken Chelsea's Marc Cucurella as the No 1 option following Luke Shaw's injury.

Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha has a 'total agreement' with Bayern Munich on personal terms, reports claim.

Sky in Germany claims a contract has been agreed until 2028.

Bayern are willing to pay between £42.8m and £51.3m for the Portugal star.

Palhinha has told Fulham and manager Marco Silva that he wants to join Bayern before Friday's deadline.

The Athletic are reporting that Man Utd are in the hunt for Sergio Reguilon.

It comes after Marc Cucurella started for Chelsea in the EFL Cup win over AFC Wimbledon which now means he's cup tied.

Reguilon can leave Spurs this summer and was recently in talks over a loan move to Real Sociedad.

United would favour loan signing of Region.

Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea have bid £18m for Corinthians youngster Moscardo.

The deal would see him join the club in 2024 - not now.

Corinthians would like £21m in order to agree to a sale.

Moscardo is 17 and plays as a midfielder.

The Mail are reporting that Tottenham are considering a late swoop for Eberechi Eze.

Crystal Palace have no interest in selling their attacking midfielder this summer - even if late offers were to arrive.

Brennan Johnson remains Spurs' focus.

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Liverpool are ready to submit their first official bid for Ryan Gravenberch.

The transfer expert tweeted: "Understand Liverpool have confirmed to Bayern they’ve official bid ready to be submitted for Ryan Gravenberch.

"Clubs in contact since Monday, formal process will start once Bayern will give green light as they need replacement. Gravenberch wants Liverpool move."

Leeds are in advanced talks to sign Werder Bremen defensive midfielder Ilia Gruev.

The two clubs are finalising potential add-ons and negotiating the payment structure of the deal but it's understood the transfer will be worth around €5m.

Personal terms have already been agreed between Leeds and the player. Ajax had also shown interest.

It's now gearing up to be a frantic end to the window for Daniel Farke.

As per Sky Sports, Fulham are in advanced talks to sign Alex Iwobi from Everton.

The Nigerian is in the final year of his contract at Goodison Park and won't be signing an extension.

It comes after Fulham saw a move for Sevilla forward Lucas Ocampos collapse on Wednesday.

Ocampos is set to stay at Sevilla after failing to agree personal terms with Fulham.

Chelsea have confirmed Romelu Lukaku has joined Roma on a season-long loan.

A club statement read: "Romelu Lukaku has completed a season-long loan move to Serie A club A.S. Roma.

"The Belgium international, who joined Chelsea in the summer of 2021, spent the previous campaign on loan at Inter Milan.

"Lukaku will link up in the Italian capital with former Chelsea head coach Jose Mourinho, who guided Roma to the Europa League final last season."

Tottenham are lining up a late bid for Conor Gallagher according to The Telegraph.

Mauricio Pochettino is expected to keep the midfielder despite initial uncertainty.

Spurs are also set to launch a bid for Brennan Johnson with immediate effect.

Nottingham Forest aren't keen on a sale but would ask for £50m in order to agree to his exit.

Paris Saint-Germain are finalising the signing of Lyon starlet Bradley Barcola from Lyon.

A deal worth close to £45m including add-ons has now been agreed between the two clubs.

Barcola was also appreciated by Manchester City and Chelsea earlier in the transfer window.

It's a case of out with the old and in with the new at PSG, who have spent big cash on a host of new, young signings following the departures of Neymar and Lionel Messi.

Sheffield United are set to win the race for Leicester left-back Luke Thomas.

The Foxes defender is due to arrive on loan until the end of the season.

Manchester United and Leeds have been tracking Thomas, who was at Bramall Lane last night to watch the Blades lose on penalties to Lincoln City.

Sheffield United are yet to pick up a point in the Premier League this season.

The Telegraph are reporting that barring any late changes, Chelsea's summer transfer business will be concluded once they have completed the signing of Cole Palmer.

Palmer is due to undergo a medical on Thursday ahead of his switch to Stamford Bridge.

The deal is worth up to £45m including add-ons.

Chelsea have made 11 summer signings to date and will have splashed over £1billion on transfers once Palmer's move is official.

Liverpool are hoping to land Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich for £25m as talks continue for the Dutchman.

Gravenberch is a long-term target for Jurgen Klopp and now the Reds sense he could finally be available in the final days of the window after just one season with Bayern.

But he could form part of a domino effect that could see Fulham's Joao Palhinha head to Bayern Munich.

Fulham have no interest in a sale but are likely to consider offers worth close to £65m.

Palhinha is thought to be big on a move to the German champions where he would get the chance to feature in the Champions League.

Tottenham look as though they have seen their loan bid to sign Barcelona attacker Ansu Fati hijacked by Brighton.

The Seagulls are now on course to seal the signing of the Spaniard on a straight loan until the end of the season.

Barcelona want to remain in control of the player's future but are willing to sanction a loan as they need to make space within their squad.

Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo is waiting to complete his loan switch to Barcelona which is yet to have been finalised.

Fati could be in England to undergo a medical today.

The Mail say Manchester United want to sign a forward on loan to replace the departing Mason Greenwood.

United recently decided they would be parting company with their academy graduate as they attempt to find a buyer for the 21-year-old.

The Red Devils are also in talks with Fiorentina over a loan move for Sofyan Amrabat.

It's thought United are currently battling Financial Fair Play limitations following their £179million spending spree.

Premier League clubs are only permitted to sign two players on loan per season.
